Senior Associate/Associate, Institutional Banking Business Finance, Group Finance

Business Function

Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions – whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.

The bank is also a certified Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for the Singapore Qualification Programme by the Singapore Accountancy Commission and an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Approved Employer.

Responsibilities

• To support month-end financial closing for GTS and FIG business, review financial performance (P&L, BS and non-financial) and forming objective insights
• To manage and report GTS direct expenses; partner with the business to identify costs savings; work closely with HR to gatekeep headcount hire; work with Technology team on monthly investment accruals to ensure expenses are captured in the correct accounting period
• Coordinate and prepare Group IBG annual budgeting and forecast exercise
• To provide business finance support for new projects and initiatives (e.g. new product launches, system enhancement)
• Facilitating business and internal finance adhoc requests
• Creating scalability and efficiency through streamlining and automating reporting processes
• Participate in team initiatives including digitization, reduction of manual processes to create a more efficient workflow

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Accountancy, Business, Finance or any related discipline is preferred
• Min 4-6 years post qualification experience preferably in business unit control or MIS reporting in international banks
• Team player with good interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong self-motivation, withability to function independently and effectively in a self-directed environment
• High attention to detail & willingness to continuously strive towards higher standards
• Conversant in handling high volume of data, sound knowledge of application software such as Excel and Powerpoint. Knowledge of Hyperion Smartview and Qlikview is a plus
