Senior Manager Group Tax (170652)

Job Summary

Manage the implementation of the Group's tax policy and advise on general Group tax matters such as transfer pricing in specific business arrangements, review of tax clauses in contracts.

General Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation of the Group's tax policy and controls to ensure consistent application across countries
• Manage execution of the Group's restructuring/re-organisation projects/initiatives to provide value-added tax services to internal stakeholders
• End to end involvement on M&A projects and tax optimisation assignments, where required;
• Assist/Support in tax audits/investigations and act as liaison between external tax advisors and tax authorities for any tax clarification, queries or tax holiday milestone assessment.
• Evaluate entities, recommend process or system enhancement to achieve tax efficiency, work with local management/internal stakeholders to develop action plan and monitor implementation;
• Countries of focus: USA, Indonesia, , Europe and ANZ (subject to change)
• Work on ad hoc projects assigned
   

Functional Skills and Knowledge

• More than 8 years of relevant tax experience in a Big 4 firm and/or MNC
• Restructuring and M&A experience is mandatory 
• Strong technical knowledge of corporate taxes and indirect taxes
• Experience in handling regional and cross-border tax issues
• Demonstrate sound knowledge and application of taxation principles, tax accounting and local tax regulations
• Demonstrate strong research and analytical skills
• Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in SAP and/or Hyperion is a bonus
• Strong leadership ability to drive projects and influencing internal and external stakeholders with a clear end goal in mind
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and self-starter
• Problem solving with an agile mind
• Willing to travel (occasional)

Education

Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent, preferably with CPA / CA or advanced taxation qualification
