Manulife Investment Management (Singapore) Pte Ltd (MIMS) is a key strategic location in Asia with focus on supporting our Singapore Fund range and distribution via distributors including private banking relationships as well as some direct retail distribution. This is a senior role within the Asia Wealth and Asset Management Operations group.
The position is planned to report to the Head of Operations Singapore and is primarily responsible for the areas below.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for MIMS retail and wealth operations including but not limited to client onboarding and maintenance, oversight over our key service providers with regards to key processes (like order intake and processing, settlement, NAV oversight, Fund expense management, set-ups, ad hoc queries), supporting internal and external reporting requirements, project work and new business initiatives.
- On a daily basis act as liaison with our key service provider for Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, Custodian and Trustee to ensure that services for our fund umbrella for both Fund Administration and Transfer Agent aspects are always accurate and timely. These include NAV oversight, prompt and accurate reporting, checking of fees charges, relevant posting to internal account system with the help of offshore teams, independently investigating breaks between account records setup of new distributors, share classes and funds.
- Provide support and guidance to the Luxembourg Service provider for the Manulife Global Fund range relating to Singapore based distributors for order placement, confirmation request, dividend confirmation issues and etc.
- Onboard new distributors to local and global platform as required by Sales.
- Onboard new Funds and/or share classes with local service provider to support distribution activities including liaising with internal stakeholders to complete setup.
- Assist with establishing new policies and procedures and ensure proper controls are in place
- Review and contribute to key governing documents like distribution agreements, Operating Memorandum, procedure documents etc
- Drive process automation, efficiency and streamlining project as a self-starter with high energy utilizing the internal low-code solutions and transformation teams
- Support new requirements for our fund ranges like onboarding to Malaysia or Indonesia platforms, new market opening like Bond Connect etc
- Support internal feasibility discussions with Sales, Product, Compliance etc teams and represent Operations in internal and external meetings as required
- Oversee reporting and query management with regards to Asset Under Management and transaction reporting for Finance and Senior Management. Support these reporting tasks to internal and external stakeholders with great attention to detail and business sense to provide insights
- Ensure projects involving operations are being well managed and completed on schedule while managing regulatory compliance
- Openness and agility to learn and expand into roles in adjacent teams like investment operations to ensure career growth

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with relevant years of specific working experience, particularly in Fund Accounting and Fund Administration, distribution operations / wealth management operations preferably in Singapore.
- Experience in process and oversight of multiple funds distribution operations
- Proficiency in low-code automation solutions like Microsoft tools and GenAI experience is a big plus. Keen learner and adopter of new tools and technologies
- Experience and knowledge in client (individual and corporation) on boarding including but not limited to KYC / AML processes, FATCA and CRS reporting.
- Experience in project management with key stakeholder management.
- Experience in monitoring service quality with external service providers.
- Strong sense of risk and immediate alert management is essential.
- Exposure to a variety of fund structures and sound general knowledge of financial markets.
- Proactive / can-do approach and attitude. Thorough attention to detail and accuracy of delivery.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
