About the role

SunRice Groupʼs Procurement function is a critical enabler of our organisational mission. We ensure a secure, sustainable, and dependable flow of raw materials and services to support the companyʼs operations. 

 

As the Global Category Lead for Contract Manufacturing, the role is pivotal in managing intricate supply chains associated with contract manufacturing sources on a global scale. You will be instrumental in driving cost savings, optimising processes, and contributing to the success of new product launches

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute commercial category strategies by collaborating with key stakeholders & aligning with global business objectives to identify contract manufacturers & deliver a medium to long term view of the contract manufacturing supply base in line with NPD pipeline
  • Lead the process re-engineering efforts for global contract manufacturing sourcing and onboarding
  • Lead the contract negotiations and commercial terms with contract manufacturing vendors globally for a sustainable supply of Finished Goods
  • Managing supply risk through monitoring and acting against potential geo-political and market changes which could impact commercial terms and supply
  • Managing contract manufacturers involves intricate supply chains spanning different regions. Coordinating key stakeholders across operations, finance, and logistics in diverse locations. 
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with contract manufacturers globally is essential. Balancing cost considerations with long-term collaboration
     

About You

You are degree qualified in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering or another related field. You also have:

  • 8 + years procurement, supply chain or relevant experience in a related industry 
  • Strong Knowledge of Category management including the principles and practices of category analysis, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship
  • Cost modelling experience & in-depth Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) understanding is essential. 
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills to build long term relationships with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms. 
  • Strong acumen and understanding of contract development and commercial terms essential. 
  • Ability to analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and industry dynamics to inform category strategies and make decisions.
  • In depth knowledge of the Source-to-Pay (S2P) lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of ethical and sustainable practices and working collaboratively with sustainability teams to ensure responsible sourcing strategies
  • Experience within FMCG
