We are currently looking for a Senior HR Manager who has managed a region, ideally APAC for an international law firm.
The object of the role is to:
- Progress the strategic HR agenda for the Asia Pacific region.
- Lead and direct the APAC HR team on all HR operational issues including seasonal firm-wide processes.
- Be a credible and trusted advisor and provide excellent HR service to the APAC partnership and leadership team.
- Facilitate and coordinate working relationships across the global firm, including with Business Managers, Group HR Managers, Global Mobility, Compensation & Benefits and Learning & Development.
- In conjunction with the APAC leadership team, devise and implement a comprehensive HR strategy for the region that is in line with the firm-wide strategy and the global HR strategy.Β Develop a resource strategy for the region to ensure employee talent plans for both fee-earners and business support align with the regionβs strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain APAC HR policies and procedures including but not limited to: family leave, recruitment, joiners and leavers, graduate recruitment, salary review and diversity initiatives.
- Ensure employment contracts for APAC are current and comply with local regulations, and where appropriate and applicable, achieve regional consistency.
- Maintain monthly regulatory review for all APAC offices ensuring statutory requirements have been met and any issues are flagged to senior management on a timely basis.
- Manage the APAC salary review budget process and provide recommendations to the Head of Asia and COO.
- Manage the APAC annual salary review process for all Groups and Business Operations teams.
- Oversee and, where necessary, support HR Managers in delivering APAC Graduate Recruitment programmes and initiatives
- Oversee and, where necessary, support HR Managers in delivering all lateral recruitment practices, processes and initiatives.Β Β
- Support and lead the APAC HR team on regional mobility issues to ensure firm-wide consistency including documentation, working with preferred suppliers, and negotiating and finalising packages.
- Lead and support APAC L&D Manager in developing and delivering L&D programmes for lawyers and Business Operations in line with the strategic goals of the firm and the region.
- Utilise firm-wide secondment programmes (e.g. Stride) to support and develop key talent in the APAC business.
- Lead and support both the regional HR team and Office Managers in jurisdictions where there is no local HR support.
- Line management responsibilities to the APAC HR team, ensuring APAC HR is delivering an excellent HR service to the business.
- Ensure the team's experience and skills are properly utilised and HR projects are allocated accordingly.
- Ensure each member of the APAC HR team is sufficiently challenged and is provided with developmental opportunities, including developing their commercial understanding of the business.
Relevant Experience
- HR experience in professional services in Asia Pacific.
- Experience of creating and delivering strategic HR plans.
- Experience of producing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Experience and knowledge of APAC relevant HR practises and issues.
