Senior/Engineer (Integrative Built Environment Centre) /School of Engineering
[What you will be working on]
- Conduct comprehensive research on various aspects of the Built Environment Sector, including but not limited to Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD), construction technologies, digital twin technologies, urban planning, sustainability practices and regulations.
- Gather and analyse data from diverse sources, such as academic, journals, industry reports, government publications and expert interviews.
- Lead and execute funded research projects, proposing innovative methodologies and strategies to address key challenges in the Built Environment Sector.
- Collaborate closely with industry partners and other Centres of Excellence to ensure the successful delivery of project outcomes.
- Develop learning-based framework to optimise the data acquisition for building energy model calibration.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to students working on major projects, fostering their growth and development in the field.
[What we are looking for]
- Qualification in Civil Engineering, M&E Engineering, Building Sciences, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Digital Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of pertinent work experience in research, with a focus on the Built Environment Sector and its various domains.
- Proven track record of successfully securing funding for research projects within the Built Environment Sector will be highly advantageous, particularly through industry partnerships and collaborations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesise complex data from diverse sources, with proficiency in relevant software tools used in industry settings.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced research environment.
- Passion for sustainability, innovation, and driving positive impact within the Built Environment Sector.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
