The Senior Mechanical Engineer supports the Mechanical Maintenance Manager in executing best practices for routine and non-routine maintenance, including planned and unplanned shutdowns. You will need to ensure optimal efficiency and uptime of process equipment, VIE tanks, and H2 bunkers while overseeing timely maintenance, repairs, and overhauls to enhance plant reliability.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
- Ensure all mechanical maintenance activities align with the Master Plan Schedule and plant requirements. Lead and guide Mechanical Technicians and Specialists in performing routine, non-routine, planned, and unplanned maintenance for process equipment, VIE tanks, and H2 bunkers.
- Spearhead reliability studies, including RCA and FMEA, to enhance equipment performance and optimize process equipment and system reliability, minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.
- Continuously review and update maintenance procedures for mechanical equipment, incorporating industry best practices. Oversee preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of mechanical assets.
- Maintain meticulous engineering and maintenance records, drawings, and documents in section folders and MAXIMO. Serve as the technical focal point for new installations and enhancement projects, ensuring designs prioritize reliability and maintainability.
- Assist in developing training programs for maintenance personnel to enhance technical competency.
- Oversee maintenance, service, and spare parts contracts, including vendor negotiations and inventory management. Ensure the availability of spare parts and oversee inventory planning to support process equipment and VIE tanks.
- Establish stock management systems for new plants and lead the annual stock audit for mechanical spare parts.
- Respond promptly to customer maintenance requests, ensuring onsite presence within two hours for critical repairs.
- Restore equipment failures to serviceable conditions swiftly to resume product supply with minimal downtime. Work closely with the operations team to execute preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance on schedule.
- Support operations managers by addressing customer queries and concerns related to equipment maintenance and reliability.
- Act as an internal auditor and coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Oversee plant operations to ensure safety, reliability, and environmental compliance. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.
- Conduct risk assessments (RA) and Method of Statements (MOS) for all mechanical equipment. Regularly review and update mechanical SOPs and manuals to maintain operational consistency.
- Support project execution by auditing equipment, verifying layouts, and witnessing mechanical installations.
Are you a MATCH?
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the Marine, Gas, or Chemical industries, specializing in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in maintenance and troubleshooting Centrifugal/Reciprocating/Screw Compressors, Refrigerant Units, Cooling Towers, Water Pumps, Valves,Piping and Heat Exchanger.
- Familiarity with international standards such as API and ASME, along with local mechanical installation codes for both static and rotating equipment, is an advantage.
- Possess leadership skills, teamwork capabilities, and the ability to manage projects independently while fostering collaboration.
- Customer-oriented mindset with strong ownership and team management skills, along with a willingness to travel to various plant sites for maintenance support and troubleshooting.
